If you have some precise work with colors in front of you, then you might want to try out Colors. This simple and lightweight utility can help you select colors from various palettes and save them as HTML, HEX or RGB. Furthermore, the application comes with a few extra features, which can streamline your work.

Colors is available in free and paid editions, for all popular Windows platforms. The application doesn't need to be installed, so you only need to extract a small executable from an archive and run it. Colors doesn't have any kind of special requirements and it uses an insignificant amount of resources.

When launched, the application will place a color palette right in front of you. You can aim at a certain color by moving a slider over a color spectrum and you can also choose a certain hue, saturation or lightness level, next to this slider. As you click and drag, the application will display your current color's corresponding red, green and blue values, as well as its HTML and Hex values. What's more, the application also supports CMYK, and you can find the percentage for each color on the same compact interface.

A particularly useful feature is the application's built-in color grabber. You can use it to capture any color on your screen, by simply pointing at it and clicking. If you see an interesting color on a website or in a movie and wish to reproduce it, this tool will come in handy.

If you decide to get the application's paid version, you will have two other options at your disposal. By clicking a check box above the color selection tools the software will copy the currently selected color to the clipboard automatically. You can also set it to hide its interface automatically when you select the color picker tool.

Pros

The application is lightweight, easy to use and quite handy. It places three color palettes at your disposal and it comes with a color picker as well. It can tell you the values of any color, in HTML, Hex, RGB and in CMYK.

Cons

The free version comes with locked features. Whenever you decide to use a certain color you see or think of, Colors will help you generate it without any effort.
